It also means we’re free to use what’s looking particularly magnificent that week rather than insisting a flower appear simply because it was invited six months ago.

Every arrangement is created by hand and finished with thoughtful presentation and our plastic-free wrapping.

A Little About North Rocks

North Rocks has a particularly solid piece of local history.

Quite literally.

The suburb takes its name from the enormous sandstone formations that once dominated the landscape. The area was originally known as Jerusalem Rocks, and stone quarried locally was used in landmarks including Parramatta Gaol and the wall of the Lake Parramatta dam.

But North Rocks wasn’t only rock and bushland.

For much of the nineteenth century it became an important fruit-growing area, with orchards producing oranges, peaches and nectarines. As farming changed in the early twentieth century, the district diversified into smaller farms including poultry farms, nurseries, dairies and, rather wonderfully for us, cut-flower farms.

By the 1950s and 60s, North Rocks was changing again as residential and industrial development replaced much of its semi-rural landscape.

Today, it’s an established neighbourhood sitting at the southern edge of familiar Hills territory, still carrying traces of that older landscape in its sandstone, bushland and reserves.

And although our own studio sits further north in Kenthurst, North Rocks is firmly within our regular Hills flower-delivery patch.

So whether the flowers are heading there for a birthday, a celebration, a difficult day or simply because someone deserves them, we’ll make sure they arrive beautifully.
